Make a white and beige interior original

When creating an interior in white and beige tones, you need to remember that the line between luxury and impersonality, sophistication and boredom is very thin. How to prevent mistakes?

  • A two-tone interior will never look stylish unless you add one or more bright colors.
    Where to use them? In detail! This could be an eye-catching pillow on the sofa, a stylish vase on the table, an original painting or print on the wall, accent curtains on the windows, etc.
  • An aquarium with fish will bring the interior to life in the truest sense of the word. If you do not want to have pets, then pots with house plants or cut flowers in a vase will become an attractive accent.
  • Another cool idea to diversify an interior designed in pastel colors is to decorate one of the walls with photo wallpaper, bright stickers or imitation brickwork.

Cozy design of a two-room apartment in beige tones for a young girl

First of all, this project is interesting because of the design of the beige kitchen with a blue splashback, and secondly, because of the open plan, where the bedroom with a niche has glass sliding doors. And the fact that the dressing room is separated into a separate space is also very tempting. The living room in an apartment with an interior in beige tones is complemented by a bright accent sofa in a blue shade.

The beige apartment in the photo above is furnished with a kitchen set, table and chairs from IKEA. Backsplash tiles from Artisan Aqua

The style of this apartment in beige tones includes Scandinavian and classic notes. But the truth is that most Scandinavian interiors still have neoclassical roots.

KITCHEN PRICES . The cost of the kitchen set in this project is 249,000 ₽, the Artisan Aqua apron — 11,200 ₽, household appliances — 143,400 ₽ (including the Zigmund hob — 33,700 ₽, the Fornelli oven — 17,600 ₽, the Elica hood — 7,200 ₽, Liebherr refrigerator - 59,000 ₽ and Bosch dishwasher - 25,900 ₽). Sink from Blanco - 16,900 ₽, Frap mixer - 6,000 ₽. Water filter Aquaphor Favorite - 4500 ₽. Total: 426,500₽.

The color scheme here is based on beige and warm walnut flooring, highlighted by blue accents in the sofa upholstery, other textiles and tile design. The latter has a hand-fired effect, where each individual tile has a slightly different shade. The design of an apartment in brown and beige tones must have a similar accent so as not to seem too traditional, but more fashionable and original. By the way, such an accent as blue would fit perfectly with another popular range of apartment design - gray beige tones and beige and white tones.

The designer took the sofa for the living room from the Horeca factory, and the coffee table from IKEA

It’s interesting that renovating an apartment in beige tones often looks simple. But in fact, in order to create a feeling of elegance and sophistication, you need to be very careful when choosing things such as baseboards, interior doors, ceiling design, flooring, and built-in furniture. The final feeling of smooth transitions and seamless finishing is worth it. For example, walnut quartz vinyl finishing here starts in the hallway area, goes into the living room, then goes to the dining room, then to the bedroom. There is also one in the corridor. This solution allows you to avoid highlighting small areas in a small apartment with color.

The interior of this apartment in beige tones looks so minimalistic also due to the following solutions:

  • profile lighting systems;
  • a laconic shelving unit as a zoning element between the living room and hallway;
  • light white interior doors with thin flat trim;
  • neat and simple Scandinavian decor;
  • kitchen and hallway cabinet fronts with flat panels.

ADVICE . If you are decorating your apartment in a neoclassical style, consider choosing just one color as an accent color for all rooms. Moreover, it can be changed in different rooms: for example, from blue and aqua to dark blue.

The walls in the apartment were finished in one shade, using plaster paint and primer from the Little Greene brand.

The interior of the apartment is in beige tones with a blue sofa. On the floor in the living room and bedroom there is quartz vinyl of the Aquaflor brand with a herringbone pattern similar to parquet

Pros and cons of white and beige interior

Even those who consider the combination of white and beige in the interior boring agree that it has a lot of advantages. Among them:

  • Beneficial effects on the psyche. It has been proven that a light palette used in interior design promotes relaxation
    . In addition, such colors stimulate imaginative thinking and develop creativity.

Bathroom

Decorated in white marble porcelain stoneware, this Scandinavian bathroom is a combination of simple solutions: a bowl with a glass screen, a large cabinet with a custom-made countertop, under which there is a washing machine. Please also note that the washing machine does not reach the countertop by 5–6 cm, which is the right decision from the point of view of the operating rules of household appliances due to its possible mobility during operation.

And in the bathroom you can find a Gustavsberg brand toilet, a Sunerzha heated towel rail and Grohe faucets

Apartment layout

The area of the kitchen-living room is only 15 m², plus a part of the corridor measuring almost 2.5 m² is attached to it (in the area of the interior doors to the bedroom, wardrobe and bathroom). The apartment also has a loggia of 2 m², which is located next to the kitchen, and an entrance hall of 6.5 m² with a large built-in storage system. Please note that there is no closet in the bedroom itself - the 13 m² room was left free, with a feeling of spaciousness. The 5 m² bathroom has a bowl, a large cabinet and a washing machine.

Finishing

The same materials were chosen for finishing. Thus, the walls in all rooms are painted with a neutral color. The wall in the bedroom work area, decorated with laminate, became an accent wall. The floor in the kitchen-living room, hallway and bathroom is laid with porcelain stoneware. This visually united the common areas. The bedroom has laminate flooring.

Mirrors were used to decorate the hallway walls. According to the author of the project, this solution fulfills not only functional, but also aesthetic tasks - it helps to visually expand the room.

Customers and tasks

The owners of the apartment in the Moscow Zilart residential complex are a married couple. They work a lot and wanted to create an interior for rest and relaxation after working days, for which they turned to designer Anna Dobrokovskaya. “It was necessary to delimit the space into common (hallway, kitchen, dining and living room) and private areas. At the same time, provide a workplace in the personal area. The main goal was to leave more open space and create functional storage,” this is how the designer describes the wishes of his customers.

A sitting area with a TV in the living room is complemented by a fireplace. It is not accentuated in the interior, but adds even more comfort to this space.

Features of beige color

A fairly large number of homeowners prefer beige interiors, and this is understandable. Delicate beige tones are classic when decorating rooms, and the calm color scheme does not have an irritating effect.

To make your apartment look stylish and modern, you need to choose the right combination of colors. The beige color in the interior complements terracotta, blue, red and yellow well. It also looks good in combination with purple, soft green and peach. All shades of beige go well with natural finishing materials made of wood or bamboo. To finish the floor, you can use parquet, tiles or laminate, which imitates different types of wood.

When drawing up a project for which renovations will be carried out indoors, you need to immediately decide what will be decorated in a beige tone. If the walls are a soft beige color, then they can be diluted with spots of contrasting color. This could be a new sofa or armchairs with brighter upholstery. You can use small splashes of brighter colors in the form of vases, paintings on the walls or wall lamps.

Hall ideas in various styles

Universal and multifaceted beige can be used in decorating a wide variety of styles.

This neutral shade is ideal for strict, laconic and symmetrical classics. Massive furniture decorated with carved elements, expensive textiles with patterns or ornaments and heavy curtains with lambrequins will organically fit into such a room.

Such a high style as neoclassicism is especially characterized by natural pastel colors, combined with exquisite furniture in dark chocolate shades or with designs with light upholstery. The presence of bronze chandeliers, frames, cornices and elements with patina will turn the hall into a real family mansion.

The photo shows a classic living room design, made in beige and purple tones.

In a minimalist style, in a beige-colored living room, there should not be a large number of unnecessary furniture elements and decor. Here it is more preferable to use a monochromatic design in combination with furniture of regular geometric shape, a small carpet and simple light curtains.

Modern design is at the same time extravagant, calm and abundant in light. Due to such a monochrome background, in combination with unexpected decorative details and practical finishing, beige will undoubtedly find its place in this style.

For those who prefer natural materials, rustic country is an excellent solution. This interior involves decorative stone wall decoration, the presence of the most simple furniture and textiles, in the form of wheat curtains or beige linen curtains.

Ideas for improvement

When decorating a living room, beige tones are considered the most win-win, but they can also be presented even more effectively and elegantly. For example, you can try to implement the following ideas:

Walls in a golden-beige combination look interesting; A reflective stretch ceiling made from a light beige spectrum will be non-standard; Adding brown accents will add contrast to the design; Natural leather in white, grey, dark beige and dark brown colors is irreplaceable in a creamy living room; It is important to have good lighting (light wires, spotlights, floor lamps). It is possible to combine different textures: embossed wallpaper with voluminous plaster and smooth chairs made of genuine leather; matte walls and glossy floors; polished cabinet fronts and textile furnishings with ribbed and carved wood. Light furniture requires additional and more richly tonal accessories. It is advisable to repeat contrasting elements (paintings, floor lamps, pillows) at least three times in different corners of the room or on opposite walls and in the center.

Photos of a beige living room at first glance captivate with their lightness, sophistication and harmony, and upon detailed study it becomes clear that such a room has a number of other advantages.

The main one is the ability of a room to change dramatically due to the addition of a new accent or more saturated color curtains.

With such a universal design you can work wonders and make your wildest fantasies come true.
