This little girl has found her place in the country. Some 1.5 m, and so many possibilities! There are open wooden shelves for storing utensils, and a white oven that blends in with the white lower cabinets. And on the work surface there is a tabletop stove and a coffee maker. Golden wood details add accent. The result is a cozy chalet-style kitchen.
Result after repair
Ikea kitchen set 220cm long. Budbin facades, laminated chipboard countertops in Ekbakken dark oak wood (removed from the range in this color, there are others), Blum fittings. There are no complaints about the facades, hinges, countertops, everything is like new.
The cabinet with the hood must be hung at a distance of 75 cm from the gas panel or higher. Ours is 60cm. The experience here is twofold. The hood is not broken, it is not heating up, and the façade above it has not turned into a pumpkin either. Budbin is fiberboard in paint; it’s better not to do this with film, there is a high probability that it will peel off. But it gets dirty: you need to wash it often, grease flies and sticks even when the hood is on. In general, nothing critical, but there is such a nuance.
The black Lava Q2 was a failure. Pure black, matte - absolutely everything sticks to it. The white semicircles left from the dishes are especially annoying. It needs to be scrubbed intensively every day.
I didn’t want a corner kitchen, because by making a corner on the left, we got the side of the cabinet right at the entrance, which I categorically did not like - the photo shows that the kitchen was almost in this configuration before. Not a corner one, but there was a separate cabinet there, which provided at least some kind of work surface, which was absent in that set. And by making a corner on the right, we would “eat up” 20 cm of the window, since we have low window sills. And I love our big windows. I didn’t regret anything here. Everything you need fits in, there is still free space in the cabinets for small equipment or something else. I don’t store vegetables and fruits in the kitchen set; this also gives more space for other needs.
The dining group did not fit in the kitchen. There are four of us, we love to have breakfast and dinner together, and the table that fit in our kitchen was not enough for us. But there is a living room with space for a dining area, where we placed a large table 160x80. They left a place for a folding table in the kitchen, but after six months they didn’t get around to it.
In the corner is a Liebherr refrigerator from the budget line. The floor has Italon Maison Walnut 120x20 porcelain tiles. The wall paint is Dulux 30GY 56/023.

I’m not a dust-phobe, but I really love a variety of pieces of wood in the interior. The ideas of minimalism have long been very close to me, I am actively decluttering, the whole family “fits” perfectly into one closet, but I have already suffered from visual sterility. Now I’m more interested in arranging utensils and decor beautifully than in hiding everything in cabinets for the sake of the “empty countertop” phenomenon.
The open shelf was made to order - I love it. I have never regretted making it, and I am planning the next kitchen with only shelves and no upper cabinets at all. Dust does not accumulate on it, since we use almost all the things from it every day. And given the size of the kitchen, I still spend less time cleaning than the happy owners of kitchens over 10 meters away, even if they have everything put away behind the doors.
Finally, the location of all things - there is enough space.
