The classic interior of an apartment can be different - romantic, pompous, elegant, modern or more traditional. The latter include styles such as Baroque and Rococo, while neoclassicism and classicism are more sophisticated and laconic.

In our new review you will find stunning classic apartment interiors from the portfolio of the famous designer Anzhelika Prudnikova (Moscow)

All photos In the photo: Interior design in a classic style
The living room in the photo above is decorated in a neoclassical style and is located in the Kutuzovskaya Riviera residential complex. This project was developed in 2018 and is now in the implementation stage. In the luxury interior design studio of Angelika Prudnikova, we created its concept, layout, decor, designed all communications and lighting, thought through the details of wall and ceiling decoration, furniture arrangement and ergonomics of space. In addition, we selected furniture, upholstery fabrics and other textiles, as well as lamps and decor.

Beautiful classic interiors usually have one thing in common - the designer’s signature style. Today we are talking about the projects of the famous Russian designer Anzhelika Prudnikova, who works both in Moscow and St. Petersburg, and in other cities of Russia, as well as abroad. Her portfolio includes apartments and country houses in the USA, many countries of Western and Eastern Europe, and the Baltic countries.

Living room with white piano in neoclassical style

All photos In the photo: Design of an apartment in a classic style
The luxurious neoclassical interior of this apartment in light colors is built on a monochrome color scheme made up of shades of ivory, mother-of-pearl, gold and copper tones. This approach allows you to make classic decoration and decor more laconic and elegant. After all, this style was originally used for castles, mansions and chateaus!

Baroque in interior design

One of the most famous styles is characterized by dynamism, originality, and constant variability of forms. It has a special scope and will be cramped in small rooms. It abounds in various, complex decorative elements and at first glance captivates with its splendor and high cost.

Leading shades

The main and most popular combination is white and gold. This contrast immediately speaks of the richness and some pretentiousness of the entire design. But the golden color can be combined with other colors - sand, beige, peach and others. In special cases, the introduction of other “royal” shades, including black and purple, is allowed. In modern interiors you can find chocolate, dark green and blue.

All of them are distinguished by saturation, richness of color, its brightness and contrast.

Decorating a space in the Baroque style

  • Walls. They receive the most attention. You should immediately forget about the wallpaper and tune in to expensive paintings, frescoes with stucco. During repairs, no free space is left and all areas are filled, even with simple twisted patterns.
  • Ceiling. It is decorated as skillfully as the walls. It can be decorated with stucco ornaments of various shapes, monumental paintings, and frescoes. A massive, ornate chandelier hangs in the center.
  • Floors. Ideally, granite or marble slabs should be used as flooring. But not all apartments can install such heavy products. For replacement, take varnished boards and artistic parquet.

Baroque furniture and decor

There are several main nuances that will help you find the right models:

  • All kinds of carvings, numerous gilded curls.
  • Curved carved backs.
  • Valuable wood species and precious stones are used for inlay.
  • Some items may be hand-painted.
  • Velvet or silk is used for lining.

But since it is not always possible to purchase expensive products, analogues that are made quite well are selected. Cheap fakes will only spoil the overall impression.

Classic style apartment design in Barcelona

All photos In the photo: Interior design of an apartment in beige color in a classic style
If you want to decorate your apartment in a classic style, you should know three things. Firstly, this style has strict conventions - characteristic techniques and solutions, ideas and types of decor that a professional designer knows and can implement for you in one project.

Secondly, the key to a harmonious classic interior is proportionality. It will not be difficult for designer Anzhelika Prudnikova to create an interior in this style on both 40 and 440 square meters, but each zone requires detailed design and painstaking work.

And the third secret of the classic style is that it can be made in any color scheme. Of course, it is not customary to use bright colors here, but deep dark, pale pastel, delicate and light variations can create thousands of combinations, one of which you will definitely like.

Luxurious decoration of the living room dining area

All photos In the photo: Classic apartment interior
Stained glass design of windows, glass doors, cupboards and ceilings is the hallmark of the classic style from designer Anzhelika Prudnikova. Our team creates exclusive sketches of each stained glass window, so you can be sure that there is nothing like it in the whole world!

The classic interior of an apartment is not complete without stucco finishing elements. Their location is often dictated by the canons of style, and not just by the actual layout and arrangement of furniture in your project. The characteristic silhouettes and location allow you to create both a traditional interior, the same as in French palaces and classical estates, and absolutely exclusive, exclusively for your apartment.

Neoclassical in beige tones

All photos In the photo: Living room design in beige
In this luxurious traditional living room in a modern classic style, the main color is beige. A couple of shades of brown - milk and dark chocolate - complement the light and sophisticated interior here.

The classic interior of an apartment will be appropriate if the designer creates the interior according to traditional canons and according to the layout that was proposed by him. It often turns out that the best options (from the point of view of both aesthetics and comfort) are obtained when the author of the project has complete freedom of action.

Classic color palette

Classic interior design is a balanced combination of color and light. As the interior artist and founder of TB studio explained. Design Tatyana Bezverkhaya: “classics relies on natural, natural and light colors.”

There should always be a base - a common color and, as a rule, a neutral one. If the design is planned to be light, the base will accordingly be “milk”, “pale graphite” or white. This base implies the presence of dark colors to complement. This could be furniture, carpets, tapestry paintings in deep gray and brown shades. The final noble touch is a few spots (pillows, chair upholstery, curtains) olive, purple, emerald spots and “sand”.

According to the same advice from Tatyana, for regions where sunny days are directly proportional to bad weather, a room in a light beige palette will definitely not be the same as in the southern part of France. Therefore, focusing only on white or dark is a mistake. You need a proper balance of cold and warm colors, light and dark.

Classic prefers a calm mood and an orderly construction of color schemes. Often, designers resort to a palette “for its intended purpose”: the bedroom is in a peaceful blue color, the front door is in sunny and welcoming vanilla, the office is in the colors of mahogany and green cloth that historically developed during the war era, the kitchen is a storehouse of “shades of dairy products” ( pink fermented baked milk, stewed milk foam and yellow cheese).

Neoclassical style in the interior of the apartment

All photos In the photo: Design of a neoclassical living room of an apartment in Domodedovo
The neoclassical style in apartment design is a classic that has become lighter, more elegant, modern and restrained. The design techniques used in this style are more ergonomic and suitable for the fast pace of city life.

Modern design in a classic style is not just luxury, but also elegance, functionality, sophisticated design and at the same time convenience for owners at every moment. Today, classics can no longer be considered a less practical style than others, because in recent years it has reached a fundamentally new level of ergonomics in furniture and decoration.

A classic living room can be decorated in a popular color scheme or in a completely exclusive one. Sticking to the standards, you can choose a beige-white, peach-beige, white-blue or pearlescent pink combination. But there is also the opportunity to create a completely new color scheme exactly to suit your needs.

Neoclassical in monochrome

All photos In the photo: Neoclassical living room in beige and brown tones
Beige and brown tones are one of the most popular in the design of a living room in a neoclassical style. You can emphasize the sophistication of the color base with a monochrome fresco, painting or engraving, and accentuate it with beveled mirrors and silver decor.

Modern classics in light colors

Another beautiful living room was created in our studio for the implementation of a project in Vilnius. The open format of the kitchen, dining room and living room here looks like a gallery layout in Parisian apartments.

Vintage antique decor on the mirrors, classic chandeliers and French details look very atmospheric here! These apartments seem to offer views of the Eiffel Tower.

We decorate every room

Hallway

Decorating a hallway in a neoclassical style is not that uncommon. The corridor meets and sees us off, and therefore sets the tone for the entire apartment. The center of the hallway is the door or mirror, around which the rest of the composition is formed. In a modern layout, the hallway flows smoothly into the living room.

Design Tips:

  1. A mirrored wardrobe will save space and be a good solution for a small corridor.
  2. If space allows, it would not be superfluous to place an armchair or a couple of poufs or a coffee table here.
  3. The design of the hallway should be consistent in color and materials with the rest of the rooms.

The design of the hallway should be consistent in color with the rest of the rooms.

The hallway welcomes and sees us off, so the design needs to be thought out correctly

A painting on the entire wall will look very beautiful.

Bedroom

For a bedroom, it is better to choose a calm interior without flashy decorative elements. Monochrome thick curtains with a little will fit harmoniously. The compositional center is the head of the bed, on both sides of which stands are often placed. Often photo wallpapers are used to visually expand the space.

Wallpaper is perfect for decorating bedroom walls

Very often, cabinets are placed on both sides of the bed

For a better choice, choose a calm design

Kitchen and living room

The laconic design of a modern classic makes the kitchen look more like a dining room than a place for preparing food. It is also noteworthy that the living room and kitchen are usually located in the same room, divided into functional areas. The design is characterized by the use of:

  • glass surfaces;
  • built-in electrical engineering;
  • comfortable, upholstered furniture;
  • wide lighting area.
  • This design makes the kitchen look like a kitchen

If the design of the kitchen and living room are similar, they are simply divided into functional zones

    Bathroom

Neoclassical bathrooms are characterized by discreet elegance. The materials imitate precious metals, and tiled mosaics are also used. A few small paintings or shelves with decorations will make your stay in the room more pleasant, and spotlights will add a modern accent to the interior.

    Classical Baroque and Rococo styles

All photos In the photo: Living room interior in the Baroque style
The Baroque style is even more pompous and luxurious than the traditional classic one. It has features characteristic of the design of palaces, chateaus and museums, castles and palazzos. Baroque is the style of houses of nobles, emphatically ceremonial and ceremonial. It will impress you with gold accents, incredibly intricate finishes and exquisitely crafted furniture with exceptional detailing.

Beige and blue living room in Baroque style

All photos In the photo: Design of a bay window in a living room in the Baroque style
Unlike Baroque, the Rococo style has more subtle features and lines, and is often done in a white and blue color scheme. Of course, being lighter and more delicate, Rococo appeared later than Baroque and is its more modern version. As in the case of classics and neoclassics. By the way, Baroque arose in the 17th-18th centuries, in Italy, after the end of the Renaissance, while Rococo - at the beginning of the 18th century, as a truly French, elegant and skillful style.

If Baroque is about contrast, tension and dynamism of images, bright luxury and expression, then Rococo is more about playfulness, floridity and airiness, creative asymmetry and soft, smooth forms.

Baroque is one of those styles that are easy to recognize at first glance and remember. And all because of the splendor of its decorative elements, bright personality and incredible attractiveness. The classical style, compared to baroque, is simpler and calmer, while baroque is always pure expression.

Baroque in the interior of an apartment in the residential complex "Dirigible"

All photos In the photo: Interior design of a living room in the Baroque style
For an interior in the Baroque style, gold is almost like brickwork for the loft style - irreplaceable, mandatory, delightful and accurately emphasizes the general features of the style. Gilding of moldings, stucco, door and furniture handles, various furniture parts, textiles and fabrics with gilding, as well as gilded openwork decorative elements is what makes Baroque such a delightful style for the interior.

    Classic living room

This is usually a large room with a high ceiling. Upholstered furniture with light upholstery will look great here.

The ceiling can be decorated with golden stucco. An invariable attribute is the fireplace, the white portal of which can be decorated with a picture and candles.

The room will look more spacious if it has tall windows and beige tones.

If you choose a design in coffee and milk tones, then it should be diluted with bright accessories.

They can have shades of purple, blue or green.

To make an apartment room in a classic modern style look appropriate, you can turn it into a studio, combining the kitchen and living room.

You can separate one zone from another using a kitchen island or bar counter.

In the relaxation area you can place poufs, a sofa, armchairs, and the consoles will become a place for placing decorative elements.

If the living room has a large area, you can place an antique cupboard and piano here.

The dining area in the classic-style living room deserves special attention. Here you can put a round or oval table, and the chairs should match the sofa.

    Classics in the kitchen

When developing the design of a classic kitchen, you can turn to photos on the Internet, because it will be difficult to fit modern household appliances into classic furniture.

But you can find a way out:

    • Built-in technology. It will help to combine antique furniture and modern appliances;
    • Various color options. Nowadays there is a huge assortment of kitchen sets in various shades on the manufacturers’ market; here you can use not only beige and pastel colors, but also blue and lilac;
    • Accessories must match the classic interior; plastic and glass will not look good here;
    • An apron in the kitchen should be designed in harmony with the flooring.

The peculiarity of the design of small rooms is that the classics look good in them only when designed by a professional. The designer's skill will not prevent you from having a good interior in a classic style, even in rooms with low ceilings or the inability to create a flow of natural light.

A Baroque style bedroom is the ultimate dream for many. Exceptionally spectacular, with sophisticated finishing, multi-layered textiles, a special lighting system and the ever-so-visible focus on the design of a luxurious headboard. Such an interior may seem simply ideal to many!

In the interior of a bedroom in a classic style you can often find such finishing details as molded medallions for a chandelier, wall decoration with beveled mirrors, damask-type ornaments and an elegant headboard. And of course, in such an interior, much attention is paid to textiles, precisely selected both in color and material quality by an experienced designer.

    Style furniture

Last but not least is the right furniture. Only natural wood, no fiberboard or MDF. Elegant and massive pieces of furniture are made in the best factories, using valuable and rare types of wood. Antique furniture will also be an excellent choice. Classic flowing shapes without unnecessary curls are a tribute to style. Furniture is often inlaid with semi-precious stones and decorated with carvings. For upholstery, natural silk, velvet, and cotton of noble colors are used.

The design of a hallway and corridor in a classic style has its own rules. For example, especially luxurious stucco molding and high baseboards are popular here; the floor design is usually fantasy and combines several shades. Particular attention is paid to the design of doors - interior doors, wardrobes and walk-in closets. In the decoration of walls, both wood panels and silk wallpaper, mirrors, and stucco elements can be used.

A classic style hallway should be well lit. The correct placement of several light sources will create a feeling of casual luxury, so this interior will look great both in the morning and in the evening. For the interior of the hallway, designers most often choose light shades to make the space seem larger visually.

Such an interior in itself looks like a work of art, and in combination with the royal living room, immaculate kitchen and other rooms it makes up a simply excellent ensemble. Mirror inserts on the door leaves help to visually expand a small room and enhance its illumination.

    Expressive luxury of Baroque

All photos In the photo: Classic interior of an apartment in the Baroque style
The beautiful interior of a classic hallway in the Baroque style differs from traditional classics primarily in the amount of decor and color scheme. The wood here can be chosen from dark and bright red species, which will instantly change the mood of the entire interior. And trim pieces such as pseudo-columns, moldings and medallions will be more ornate and more intricately detailed.

Baroque as a style is more suitable for bright, spacious rooms than small ones, because it requires more space and natural light to reveal all its beauty. So, only owners of apartments with an area of 100-130 square meters should think about it.

    Windows and lighting

It just so happens that since the times of luxurious estates and palaces, windows have been the main source of light. As wide and tall as possible, they were framed in natural wood frames with an impeccable finish.

Today, not every room can boast of such a scale, so to demonstrate the classic style it will be enough to visually enlarge the window openings using the lightest color scheme of niches and snow-white curtains.

Daylight is replaced in the evening by stylized pendant chandeliers, richly decorated with glass and crystal. Depending on the size of the room, it can be one central chandelier, or several located along the axis of symmetry.

To complete the effect of maximum illumination, which is a mandatory parameter of a classic interior, additional light sources are also required. These can be noble floor lamps, with gilded elements and a laconic lampshade; stylized table lamps or sconces. In any case, the selected lamps must be paired and not break the symmetry.

    Home office interior design ideas

Classic office interior in white is a fashionable trend in interior design. The traditional appearance of the office, like an aristocratic home office with a library, a sofa, and a luxurious desk made of natural wood, is preserved, but the dark brown color scheme is replaced by white - light, pleasant and light. Thanks to this approach, the office will be a favorite place for all family members.

    Office space in beige tones

All photos In the photo: Classic interior of an office in an apartment
The interior of an office in an apartment can be different. The more space you have, the more functional it can be. In addition to the standard workplace and places to store papers and books, you can order the designer a guest bed or the opportunity to turn the office into a children's room or a separate bedroom in the future.

In addition, the office can become both a place for hobbies and a mini-home theater, if you want. Basically, you are only limited by your imagination!

    Bedroom

The master bedroom should become a center of peace and tranquility.

Ideally, a bed with a high carved headboard, armchairs, a dressing table and a spacious wardrobe will be combined with the shade and texture of the curtains.

A chandelier with crystal pendants will decorate the ceiling of a classic interior, and sconces and bedside lamps will create muted, diffused light at the head of the bed.
